Musical mini

I've been in the mood to listen to my favorite artists lately, which has been difficult given the death of my iPod. I've lost many CDs to various moves, and my laptop containing most of my library is nearly dead. I've been seeking things out on Pandora, MySpace and YouTube, but I miss my albums. It left me feeling strangely inspired, so I created an EtsyMini featuring song titles by artists I love. The song title is either in the item title or is just the item itself. Here's the mini below:

Just for fun, if anyone wants to try to guess the title and artists of the featured songs, go for it. If anyone gets all 12, I'll send them a piece of my handmade jewelry. As a hint, each row has a theme. From top to bottom, they are female singer-songwriters, male singer-songwriters, indie rock bands, and male piano players. I'll happily chime in to let you know if your guesses are right or wrong. I'd love to have a winner. So get to clicking, Googling, and guessing!

I want you

I had a traumatic day (i.e. got my blood drawn for a medical test), so I'm consoling myself by searching Etsy. Here are 12 of my favorite items at the moment:

I hope you enjoyed!

Spreading the Tulsa Craft Mafia love

Wanna give your sweetie a little handmade love this Valentine's Day? Head over to the Tulsa Craft Mafia blog for tutorials on great goodies you can make yourself. I just posted mine today! Others will go up throughout the week. As soon as the news article goes in the paper, I'll post a link to the Web version as well.

I also excitedly wanted to announce that we have two new group members! Andrea of Paper Lotus Design Group is already establishing herself as a maker of fine greeting cards in Etsyland. We have also welcomed Emily of Girl with a Red Kerchief, who just opened her Etsy shop over the weekend. Both are wonderfully talented women whose craftiness and ideas I'm glad to have on the team. This year is shaping up to be everything 2008 wished it was! And for even more TCM lovin', check this out:

Rarr!!

I've decided to embrace the silliness and giddiness as much as I can today. Whenever possible, I'm not going to focus on my unemployed father and friends, my boyfriend's aunt's surgery, or the way the apartment complex is being bastardly to us. Instead, I'm going to think about yetis. Now you can, too.

is peace, love, understanding, and all those goodies. Failing that, anything from this Etsy mini would be just lovely:

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

The skies are dull and monochrome today, so I decided to make an Etsy Mini of some lovely, rainbow-colored items. Check them out:

Saturday picks

Check out these wonderful Alice in Wonderland inspired pieces. I want every single one of them! The two Alice books are two of my favorites. My father used to read an illustrated version of the first one to me at bedtime, and someday I look forward to doing the same for my children.

I hope everyone's having a wonderful weekend!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween, one and all!

Who has big exciting plans? We have ballet tickets tonight, so I won't get to engage in any full-on Halloween activities. Unfortunately, my beloved is ill, and I really don't want him to go if he's not feeling up to it. I may need to find someone else to accompany me. We shall see. If I do end up going, I will be wearing this gorgeous dress by Patina, purchased in Atlanta.

Before the ballet, we are going to drop by my dad's house to celebrate my sister's birthday. I made her a ring with a pink S on a purple background, and I'll probably throw in a matching pendant. I also bought the cutest book ever called Doodles that I bought in Atlanta, too. It looks really neat, especially for a young girl with autism who needs to improve her motor skills.

For your viewing pleasure, here's a small treasury of Halloween finds made by my Oklahomies. Click, view, and enjoy!

Winter finds

The cold weather is moving in to my hometown, and though it is no friend of mine, it does make me think of the important things in life, like snuggling. Here are some Etsy finds that make me want to get all cuddled up on the couch with a mug of peppermint tea, a pen, or some crafting supplies:
