New items!

As part of my business plan, I determined that I need to add new items to the shop with much greater regularity (or, you know, any at all). So each week I plan to add at least three new things to the shop. Yesterday, I put this little baby in there (click the photo to go to the listing):

Today, I'll be adding this new rosary (EDIT: Item added. Click the picture to go to the listing):

And Friday, you'll be able to claim this beautiful necklace:

I always update my Twitter account when I post a new piece, so follow me to be notified when I list new items!

Fancy Pants Vance Vintage

If I had my own store, I would call it Sunshine, Rainbows, and Fancy Vance Pants or something equally ridiculous. When I decided to add a few vintage things to my Etsy shop, I clearly had to call the section Fancy Pants Vance Vintage. Today, I added a Glamour Puss Coin Purse to my store. Ain't she a beaut?

Deco to Disco, an awesome vintage clothing and accessories store in Tulsa, is going out of business in Tulsa by the end of the weekend (but its sister store, Mod 50s Modern, is remaining open). Everything is 50% off through tomorrow, and then it's all 75% off. I snatched up two armloads of goodies on my lunch break yesterday, and I'll likely head back over on Saturday to pick over what's left. The owner is shutting down because she wants to semi-retire, not because of the economy. She has two adorable pug babies to care for, and frankly, I can't blame her for that! She said she'll start setting up at the Great American Flea Market sometime soon, mainly selling accessories. Between the flea market this weekend and yesterday's exercise in non-restraint, I decided to dabble in some online vintage selling, so look for a post full of goodies and some new listings soon!

New items!

In celebration of the Tulsa World article I mentioned earlier, I'm listing three new items today! I'm giving my wonderful readers a preview of things to come -- it's almost like I'm bestowing psychic powers upon you, except they're a little limited, I suppose. Anyway, as I put the items in my shop, I'll link to them in this post. Here are the goods:

Floral design

No, I'm not becoming a florist, though that sounds like tons of fun. I've been adding new floral-inspired pieces to my shop lately. Here they are:

Workin' the metalwork

Sorry for the brief hiatus. Illness, work and other ickies were interfering with my leisure time.

I had my first metalworking class last night. It was so much fun. Basic soldering is much easier than I expected. We all measured, cut, formed and soldered silver rings in the first class. Next week, he's going to show us how to add texture, polish and generally finish the piece. My ends didn't match up perfectly, but damn, I'm still impressed with my first attempt. What do you think? And a close up of the soldering itself. See?It's a bit rough, but I'm proud. Yay! This torch was way less scary than the one we use for lampwork. :/ I'm taking the class with Emily, an Etsy friend. Her shop is here.
Tonight, I'll be learning to make mosaics with the Tulsa Craft Mafia gals. This means I need to remember to hit up the craft store for supplies after work. Let's see if I can make that stick in my poor, headache-riddled brain.
I plan to update my shop today as long as I have a few minutes to edit pictures. Here's hoping. :)

Citrus Fantasy Bracelet

My Citrus Fantasy Bracelet is now available in my store. Bask in its glory!

If it isn't purchased before the listing expires, I'm keeping it for myself! So act fast before my greedy little paws rip it from my Web site.

I will wait until after the long weekend to post more new items. If I think of it once my better half wakes up, I may post my awesome vintage finds from yesterday!

I hope you all have exciting plans for the holiday. I will be enjoying a mostly quiet, easy-going weekend. My mom's birthday is Tuesday, but we're celebrating it tomorrow with haircuts, fancy brunch, and mani/pedis. What more could I ask for in a weekend? So Happy Memorial Day Weekend, one and all!

Corny Earrings

I just added a new item to my store. Check it out:

The Me So Corny Earrings -- definitely the corniest pair you'll ever own, and I mean that in the best way possible. The little ears of corn must be seen to be believed. Get 'em quickly, though, as only one pair is available!

I have a stack of new items to add in the coming week or two, so check back often for other offerings. Because I love my blog readers oh-so-much, here's a preview of some of my favorite items that will be posted soon:

Here is pictured the Citrus Fantasy Bracelet, In Bloom Earrings, and The Leaves Are Always Greener Necklace. I'll let you know when each is available in my store!

Bad mother

So I'm a bad blog mother. In my defense, things got crazy there for a while. Here's the recap:

In early March, everyone in my department received notice that our section would no longer be published, so we were all let go as of that day. It was shocking and totally out of the blue, so I had a rough transition out of my day job. The news came the day before my one-year anniversary at the job, too. LAME. I spent two weeks unemployed, and that just happened to coincide with me and my boyfriend moving into a new apartment -- which also cost more than our old place. I did manage to find a new job, one that even pays better, and started that on St. Patrick's Day. In the meantime, my digital camera died, which is why I haven't added anything new to my Etsy store in a long time. I ordered a new one last week, though, so I should be in possession of it shortly. Woo hoo! So I will be a regular blogger again, I promise. The only road block at this point is that our new, lovely apartment has a major plumbing problem (YAY! :P), so we're temporarily displaced. The temp home has no Internet access, meaning I can only post from work, and only then when I have time. I will get back on the ball soon, though.

In other news, I registered my own domain name a couple of weeks ago, but there's nothing there yet. I have no idea how to set up and run a Web site! I plan to get to work on it soon. I'll post a link when there's actually something to see.

At the end of March, I shared a booth with The Storybeader at the Cleveland County Spring Creative Craft Fair, which wasn't a big seller for me. I do have one picture of my set up, though, which is being totally revamped. You can see it here, courtesy of ClaudiasBurningInk. I'm going to abandon much of what I generally use to display jewelry as I've recently purchased a necklace and earring display. I also bought a little suitcase that I'm going to make look like a neat-o display, a canopy, and some new fabric to drape over part of my table cloth. I'm looking forward to how it will turn out.

So that's what I've been up to. Sorry for my absense. Tomorrow, I'll post a list of upcoming festivals and shows I plan to take part in. Thanks for sticking with me!

Love,
Brigid
